Project Overview:

Brabners, an independent law firm based in Liverpool, sought to add a touch of sophistication and intrigue to their office refurbishment by creating a hidden bar, elegantly concealed behind a bespoke bookcase. The goal was to seamlessly combine luxury and functionality, offering clients a memorable and unique experience. CPA Joinery was commissioned to design and build the custom bookcase. In consultation with the team at Runners, the TommaSlide 300 sliding system was identified as the perfect solution. TommaSlide provided the smooth, robust performance required to support the bookcase’s weight while maintaining effortless operation.

Challenge

The primary challenge lay in engineering a sliding system robust enough to support the considerable weight of the bookcase, which was heavily loaded with books and decorative items. Smooth, silent, and reliable operation was essential, especially given its prominent placement in a quiet office setting where frequent use was expected. Durability and performance were paramount within the decision-making process.

Solution

The TommaSlide 300 was chosen for its superior engineering and impressive load capacity of 300kg. This system easily accommodated the heavy-duty application of the sliding bookcases. The track was neatly recessed into the ceiling, and the bottom guide was discreetly integrated into the bottom of the bookcase, ensuring a flush, minimalist appearance.
